Join our Governance and Pensions Solutions (GPS) team, a key growth area within our Outsourcing function. GPS provides Outsourced Pensions Management services to occupational pension schemes, working with schemes of all shapes and sizes, including some of the most prestigious and intricate in the UK.
In this exciting role, you will be responsible for delivering a wide range of services, including day-to-day pensions management, governance and trustee secretariat support to both in-house functions and trustee boards.
This role would suit a pensions ‘all-rounder’, with a background in either consulting and/or an in-house environment.
The Role
- You will manage a portfolio of clients and be responsible for delivering exceptional outsourced pensions management services, partnering with in-house pension functions, ensuring timely delivery against agreed tasks and objectives.
- You will work closely with clients, becoming a trusted partner – helping them to address their challenges and identifying ways to improve ways of working. You will have a degree of autonomy, using your own judgement and experience to create the best solution for our clients – agility in your approach is therefore important.
- Providing strategic input into the development of clients’ governance frameworks, against the backdrop of the general code.
- As well as working closely with all GPS colleagues, you will develop strong relationships with wider lines of business within WTW.
- Contributing to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying how the delivery of client support can be bettered and taking appropriate action.
- You will have responsibility for agreeing and managing client budgets and ensuring profitability. You will ensure that client time is recorded appropriately, billing is completed accurately and on time across your portfolio of clients. and identify opportunities for revenue growth.
- Participating In new business activities and identifying opportunities for revenue growth.
- Managing the preparation of case summaries relating to trustee discretion – including death, transfer referrals (and red flags) and complaints (including escalated complaints through the IDRP).
- You will be a thought leader, and share lessons learnt and growth opportunities with the team. Thinking outside the box, you will embrace new challenges and encourage others to work outside their comfort zone
The Requirement:
- In depth knowledge and understanding of regulatory frameworks and statutory requirements for DB, DC, and hybrid pension arrangements.
- Understanding the need for change; you are comfortable with ambiguous and uncertain situations; easily adapting to changing circumstances or demands and helping others on the team.
- Previous experience in pensions governance, and a background in consultancy and/or in-house environment is essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate and influence with confidence and clarity at all levels.
- Experience In business development, up-selling, and cross-selling will be advantageous.
- Good commercial acumen and awareness.
- A strong drive for excellence and quality execution.
- Demonstrable intellectual curiosity, positive attitude, and a willingness to embrace change.
- Exceptional organisational skills and an ability to effectively prioritize work, meeting tight deadlines without diluting the quality of work.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to develop internal and external relationships.
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
- Post graduate qualification or hold a recognized professional pensions qualification (or working towards) would be advantageous.
